The first and the only study progam that is based on the energy business and technology. Universitas Pertamina is one of the pioneers for logistics engineering undergraduate program.

Logistics Engineering Study Program Universitas Pertamina was established based on the Decree of the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education No. 60/KPT/I/2016 issued on February 1, 2016. The establishment of Universitas Pertamina (UPer) is a form of PT Pertamina (Persero)'s contribution to society. Universitas Pertamina was established with the spirit of becoming a world-class university in the field of energy business and technology.  

The Logistics Engineering Study Program was born as an answer to the current global industrial conditions. Industry trends show that the role of logistics and supply chain management in the company is a very calculated factor in maintaining overall company profits. The current government policy direction is also focused on improving national connectivity and logistics infrastructure development throughout Indonesia.
 
The development of the logistics industry in Indonesia is currently not matched by the provision of adequate human resources. One way to be able to solve logistics problems in Indonesia is to prepare professionals who choose expertise and abilities in this field. The human resources working in logistics and supply chain today generally enter the field unplanned; they are not those who develop competencies from the start.
 
Professions in logistics and supply chain are not yet popular in academia or among new graduates. To be able to answer this challenge, of course, an educational program that focuses on improving the capabilities of logistics human resources both formally and informally is needed. The science of logistics itself is expected to contribute to solving the problem of connectivity barriers of Indonesia's logistics system by bridging the gap between geographical distance and economic distance, as well as broadly, and more specifically related to the distribution of national energy sources so as to achieve strong national connectivity.

The Logistics Engineering Study Program is a new study program in Indonesia, but the need for human resources in this field is very high. In fact, the Logistics Engineering Study Program at Pertamina University is one of the pioneers of undergraduate level study programs for this field in Indonesia. Of course, this is a challenge in itself related to its development and development. Some of the main challenges are related to accreditation, scientific clusters, development references, and the availability of experts for the teaching and learning process. In addition, what is also a challenge for the Logistics Engineering Study Program as a new study program is the absence of recognition from the industrial world regarding the absorption of graduates in this field. However, given the high demand for professional human resources in logistics and supply chain, this should not be a significant obstacle in the future. All of the above challenges need to be anticipated and taken into consideration in the development and teaching and learning process in the Pertamina University Logistics Engineering Study Program, so that graduates of this study program not only have academic abilities but have the readiness and competence to be able to go directly to the industry and answer industry challenges in the future.

1. Menyelenggarakan pendidikan yang memberikan keterampilan intelektual dan profesional dalam bidang logistik dan rantai pasok; 
2. Melaksanakan penelitian inovatif serta berkontribusi pada kemajuan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi di bidang logistik dan rantai pasok; 
3. Melaksanakan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang aplikatif terkait dengan bidang logistik dan rantai pasok di tingkat nasional maupun internasional. 
4. Membangun karakter bangsa melalui penciptaan budaya dan iklim akademik kampus.
