Congratulations to Shahar Banun, Petroleum Engineering
student at Universitas Pertamina, for winning 2nd Place in the SPE Asia Pacific
Undergraduate Paper Contest 2025, held as part of the Asia Pacific Oil and Gas
Conference and Exhibition (APOGCE) in Jakarta.
Shahar presented her paper titled “Optimization of WAG-CO2 Injection in a Dead
Oil Reservoir Using MRST,” showcasing an innovative study on optimizing
CO₂-based Enhanced Oil Recovery through open-source simulation.
The contest featured top undergraduate representatives from universities across
Asia, including Indonesia and China. During the event, Shahar also had the
opportunity to meet the 2026 SPE President, marking an inspiring experience at
an international platform.
