Dr.Eng. Nova Ulhasanah, S.T., M.Eng. meraih gelar Doctor of Engineering (Dr.Eng.) dari Department of Environmental and Life Sciences, Toyohashi University of Technology, Japan. Nova memperoleh Beasiswa pemerintah propinsi dari Aichi Prefecture, Japan untuk Program Research Student dan Masters Course, serta beasiswa Monbukagakusho dari Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), Japan untuk Program Research Student,dan Doctoral Course. Bidang keahlian dan ketertarikan penelitan (Research Interest) Nova, diantaranya: Solid Waste Management, Solid Waste Treatment, Environmnetal Impact Assessment (Material Flow Analysis, Life Cycle Assessment, Material Flow Cost Accounting, Social-Life Cycle Assessment, waste-co processing), Blue Carbon, Waste to Energy. Saat ini Nova memiliki Jabatan Fungsional Lektor (Assistant Professor) di Universitas Pertamina. Hasil dari berbagai penelitian tersebut telah dipresentasikan dalam berbagai International scientific conferences, international Journal dan Jurnal nasional berakreditasi SINTA. Nova saat ini juga aktif dalam menjadi editor dan reviewer Jurnal Internasional Scopus dan bereputasi, serta Jurnal nasional terakreditasi SINTA. Lebih jauh lagi, saat ini Nova sedang menerima hibah penelitian (sebagai ketua tim peneliti) dari Universitas Pertamina dengan nominal yang besar dalam mendesain Sustainable Smart System of Solid Waste Management in Universitas Pertamina. Disamping itu, sebagai ketua Center of Excellence "Center for Environmental Solution", Nova sedang menjalankan proyek besar dari Pertamina Foundation dan PT. Pertamina dalam tema "Blue Carbon Initiative" 2022-2025. Dalam organisasi profesi dan keilmuan, tercatat sebagai anggota Ikatan Ahli Teknik Penyehatan dan Teknik Lingkungan Indonesia (IATPI). Diluar bidang Teknik Lingkungan, Nova juga melebarkan sayap sebagai Penyiar Radio di Kota Padang, jadi MC di acara olahraga besar tahunan propinsi Sumatera Barat "tour de Singkarak".
