Chemical Engineering Students Association held CHEMITION 2020

Jakarta Commemorating Universitas of Pertamina’s Chemical Engineering Festival (CHEFEST), Universitas Pertamina’s Chemical Engineering Students Association (HMTK) held an event known as the Chemical Engineering Competition (CHEMITION) 2020. The series of events took place on January 30-31, 2020 at the Griya Legita Building, University of Pertamina.

The CHEMITION is an annual event held by Universitas Pertamina’s Chemical Engineering Students Association (HMTK) consisting of an EC-CHE (Essay Competition) for high school/equivalent students and an SPC-CHE (Scientific Paper Competition) for university

students. The 10 best papers of SPE-CHE were then presented for their research results at the University of Pertamina.

Registration for the competition had been held from October 2019 until January 2020, while the series of CHEMITION events took place on January 30-31, 2020. On January 30, 2020, the scientific paper exhibitions were held at the Griya Legita Lobby, University of Pertamina.

On January 31, 2020, the final session of the scientific paper presentations took place, and in the evening, a Gala Dinner was held along with the announcement of the competition winners.

The Gala dinner was attended by the Head of University of Pertamina’s Chemical Engineering Study Program, Head of University of Pertamina’s HMTK, Head of University of Pertamina’s AIChE, and the finalists who passed the CHEMITION 2020 Scientific Paper Competition.

The teams that won the EC-CHE competition were: first place by a team from MAN 3 Banyuwangi, second place by a team from SMAN 1 Badegan Ponorogo, and third place by a

team from SMAN 4 Denpasar. Meanwhile, the teams that succeeded in winning the SPCCHE competition were: first place by a team from Brawijaya University with the research title “SI SEMAR MANGAN Environmentally Friendly Smart-Cage System Energy Source from Cow Manure Waste 4.0 Revolution Trend”; second place by STEM AKAMIGAS with the research title “Innovation in the Utilization of Sandbox Tree Fruit Waste (HURA CREPITANS) as Bio Briquette in the Efforts to Provide Alternative Renewable Energy in the Cepu Region”; and third place by Bandung Institute of Technology with the title “Utilization of Carbon Dioxide Emissions into Electrical Energy with the Aim of Achieving Ecosystem Balance”.
