Jakarta – Universitas Pertamina got good news from the Logistics Engineering Study Program. Three teams managed to successfully wipe out the three big champions at the 2020 Logistics Case Competition (LCC) on Sunday, April 19th, 2020. They managed to take down 7 other finalists from Gadjah Mada University, Bogor Agricultural University, North Sumatra University, Mercubuana University, Bung Hatta University, and Pos Indonesia Polytechnic.
LCC is a competition in the field of applicative production and operations organized by Bogor Agricultural University (IPB). The competition discusses how to overcome the case problems for the agricultural sector starting from the distribution channel, the technology needed, and the handling of agricultural products with the e-commerce business model. The competition which has entered its fifth year this year was held on January 27th, 2020 to April 19th, 2020 with the theme “Be the Outstanding Generation to Solve Logistical Problem in Millennials Era”.
Previously, the three teams from Pertamina University had sent their research papers and were declared qualified as the top 10 finalists. The qualified teams then had to present their ideas at IPB. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the finalists were required to make a video explaining their ideals and then uploaded by the committee to YouTube.
Because of the innovations they made, the three teams from Pertamina University managed to achieve first, second and third champions in the competition. The three achievements were obtained by First place, The Krambil Synergy Team with members: Zahra S. (2017), M. Fajril A. (2017), and Fiki R. M (2017). On the Second Place, Fireflies Team with members: Sisilia R. W (2017), M. A. Budi S. (2017), and Bregin F. B (2017), and the Third Place, Fresh Log Team with members: Dian P. R (2018), M. Aqsha (2018), and Millenia S. A (2018).
Fajril who represented the whole team said that joining this competition was a dilemma for them. Because at that time they were faced with the Midterm Examination (UTS). “I remember at that time all preparations were made during the UTS period. Imagine how the competition was held meanwhile, we also study for the midterm. It was a little overwhelming yet it was also fun. After we’re done with the exam, we took our time to discuss in the library.” He said.
Rahmad Inca Liperda, S.T., M.Eng. as the Student Advisor of Pertamina University Logistics Engineering Study Program was also proud of the struggle that students been through. Because he was there during the team’s struggle for the LCC event. “This achievement deserves thumbs up. They get two challenges that must be solved simultaneously. And amazingly, won first, second and third place. Hopefully, it can inspire other students.” he concluded.
