Jakarta – In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic where large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) were in place in different parts of the world, and the system of working from home (WFH) is implemented, an online event took place called ‘Marathon-Xtra IATMI UK’.
Gusti Panuntun, UP’s Petroleum Engineering student of batch 2016 has made us proud by being chosen to be one of the speakers one of the sub-program of Marathon-Xtra IATMI UK, ‘Sharing Session 2020’.
To choose the best candidate for the speaker in Sharing Session 2020, that was held by IATMI UK (Ikatan Ahli Teknik Perminyakan Indonesia – Komisariat United Kingdom), 39 participants went through a selection process. The 2 participants who were selected -one of them being Gusti Panuntun- received a supervisor/assistance as well as coaching sessions before the virtual presentation in front of hundreds of viewers. Gusti Panuntun was also awarded as the main winner in the sub-event of ‘Sharing Session 2020’.
On May 6th, 2020 at the event, Gusti had presented his topic called “Exploring Multilateral Efforts to Address the Challenges of the National Energy Sovereignty (Kedaulatan Energi Nasional) 2050” for 15 minutes.
Arsalan Umar, a Petroleum Engineering student of batch 2017 at UP had also received an award as one of the best five in Marathon-Xtra IATMI UK’s sub-event, IDEA PITCH. This sub-event has an as different atmosphere for the students attending because it does with professional presenters in their field.
Osaliana Budiarto, S.Sc., M.T one of the lecturer of the Petroleum Engineering (PE) Study Program as well as being a Pembina Kemahasiswaan Prodi PE felt proud of the two students. “This achievement shows that although we are going through a difficult time that is filled with limitations, the students can formulate ideas for the future of the national oil and gas industry. The ability to think creatively like this will certainly be useful in dealing with the global competition.”
