Jakarta – Pertamina University through the Mechanical Engineering Study Program in collaboration with Durham University, United Kingdom held The First International Symposium on Surface and Interface Science on December 17, 2019. The event took place in the 3rd Floor Auditorium of the Griya Legita Building, Pertamina University.
Prof. Akhmaloka, Ph.D. as the Rector of Pertamina University, opened the symposium. The symposium was assembled in the form of seminars and talk shows that discussed solving the problem of scarcity of energy sources. The topic carried in the year of 2019 was “The Role of Surfaces and Interfaces in Energy Industry”.
Speakers who participated in this symposium included Yudi Rahmawan, Ph.D. from the Mechanical Engineering Study Program, Pertamina University, Indonesia; Prof. Halim Kusumaatjaya from the Physics Study Program, Durham University, United Kingdom; Prof. Moon Kyu Kwak from the School of Mechanical Engineering, Kyungpook National University, Korea; Dr. Gea O.F Parikesit from the Faculty of Engineering, Gajah Mada University, Indonesia; Dr. Bidhari Pidhatika from the Agency of Industrial Research and Development, Ministry of Industry, Indonesia; and Muhammad Subkhi Sadullah, S.Sc., M.Sc. from the Dept. of Physic, Durham University, United Kingdom. A guest speaker from Singapore also attended the symposium, that is Dr. Dan Daniel from the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE).
At this symposium, researchers and engineers from the fields of physics, chemistry, and other interdisciplinary sciences presented the latest developments regarding new materials. Audiences at the symposium will receive scientific knowledge in various phenomena that occur and build networks and collaborations for further research.
