Jakarta – On 6 to 8 January 2020, the Universitas Pertamina Chemical Engineering Study Program conducted an excursion study to several companies in Central Java. This excursion study aims to introduce students to the application of chemical engineering applied in the industrial field so that it can provide an idea for the preparation of the workforce as well as updates or innovations in the future.
On the first day, January 6, 2020, students visited PT. Pertamina Refinery Unit IV, located in Cilacap. Mr Didit Bahagia, Senior Manager of Operations and Manufacturing of RU IV Cilacap, welcomed the students. During the visit, students had the opportunity to know the refinery overview, HSSE knowledge and a direct visit to the refinery.
On the second day, January 7, 2020, students visited the Indonesian Atsiri House, which located in Karanganyar Regency. During the visit, students had the opportunity to see the process of producing essential oils.
On the third day, January 8, 2020, students visited PT. Madukusmo, located in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. During the visit, students had the opportunity to learn firsthand the process of sugar production.
In addition to providing an overview of the world of work preparation, this excursion study also directly provides an overview to students about what innovations are needed by the industrial world that they can develop during lecture activities.
