Jakarta – Indonesia with the total area of 7.81 million Km2 is a maritime country, made up of 2.01 million Km2 land area, 3.25 million Km2 ocean area, and 2.55 Km2 million is the exclusive economic zone. Which means two thirds of the area in Indonesia is made up of the ocean, this unique point is what brings a huge potential for the growth of the economy of Indonesia.
That unique point becomes the basis of “Indonesia Inc. Peta Jalan Menuju Poros Maritim Dunia”. The book was written by Dr. Ian Montratama and his team, who is one of the lecturers of the International Relations course in Universitas Pertamina. This book was launched on the 16th of March 2019 in the auditorium of Griya Legita. This event was filled in with Atmadji Sumarkidjo (Staf Khusus Bidang Politik dan Media Kementerian Koordinator Bidang Maritim), Dr. Siswo Pramono (Kepala Badan Pengkajian dan Pengembangan Kebijakan Kementerian Luar Negeri), Dr. Ir. Arifin Rudiyanto, Msc. (Deputi Bidang Kemaritiman dan Sumberdaya Alam Kementerian PPN/BAPPENAS), Alban Sciascia, Ph.D (Peneliti Asian Centre Paris) and Dr. (C) Asep Setiawan (Head Of Media Research Center PT. Media Televisi Indonesia) as speakers, and was attended by all the invited guests as well as the academic community of Universitas Pertamina.
