Jakarta – A team of students from Pertamina University’s Geophysics Engineering Study Program won third place in the paper competition category at the 2019 Geosphere event organized by the Department of Geophysics Engineering, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh November.
The 2019 Geosphere aims to discover and further explore the development of earth science, build conductive relationships between students and energy companies and geoscience, and also be a platform for students, lecturers, and experts to present their ideas and innovations on energy issues now and develop geoscience in the future.
This year, Geosphere took place from October 31 to November 2, 2019, with the theme “Optimizing Youth Potential for Geoscientist Empowerment” as the main topic. The competition is in the form of a paper competition, seismic interpretation, and the earth science olympiad.
The Pertamina University team with the name of Perta-One, consisting of Frenly Ferdy Lumalessil, Erwin Fernanda, and Firni Agustin Dullah, addressed the research topic with the title “Optimization of PSP-MAP (Hot Spring Channel Surface Pipe) Design Using POD 1.0 (Python Optimization Design) Software: As an Effort to Achieve Sustainable Infrastructure in Cisolok “.
Erwin admitted that the team had been very prepared for the research paper in the previous months. In addition to that, it must be combined with Python software. This research also received guidance from lecturers.
